This potion is little bit sweet, a little bit tart, and all around strange - just like the Amys...

Ingredients
Ice
¼ cup fresh blackberriesÂ
1 ½ ounces tequila or Mezcal
1 ounce blackberry liqueurÂ
1 to 2 tablespoons simple syrup, more or less to taste (recipe below)Â
juice from half of a lemonÂ
sparkling ginger beer for topping (optional)Â
fresh rosemary for garnishing (optional)
Simple Syrup
½ cup sugar
½ cup water

Preparation

Step 1
Make the simple syrup. Add the sugar and water to a small saucepan over medium heat. Stir until sugar is completely dissolved.Allow to cool, then pour into a glass jar and seal tightly with a lid. Simple syrup will keep, refrigerated, for about one month.
Step 2
In a cocktail shaker, add the blackberries and simple syrup. Muddle the blackberries until the begin to break up. Pour in the tequila, blackberry liquor, lemon juice, and a handful of ice. Place the lid on the cocktail shaker and shake vigorously for 30 seconds.Â
Step 3
Strain with a fine mesh strainer into a chilled cocktail glass, top with ginger beer and ice if desired. Drink and enjoy!
